GREEN AND DIGITAL INNOVATION HUB AT KENYA INNOVATION WEEK

The Green and Digital Innovation Hub Kenya (gDIH) was launched at the Kenya Innovation Week on November 27. This groundbreaking initiative, implemented by GIZ on behalf of the German government and the European Union, aims to support micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in Kenya by providing access to technology and innovation resources, fostering a culture of digital innovation and entrepreneurship, and promoting environmentally sustainable business practices. The gDIH will be operated by a consortium of dedicated Kenyan institutions and was celebrated with keynote speakers at the launch ceremony and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding. This initiative is seen as a significant step towards a more sustainable and digitally advanced Kenya, providing equitable access to digital innovation opportunities for MSMEs across the country.

ABOUT THE SKIIVE PROJECT

On behalf of GIZ, GFA is implementing the project “Strengthening Kenyan Intermediaries and Innovation Ecosystem (SKIIVE)” under the Digital Transformation Centre (DTC) to bolster Kenya's digital economy. The project focuses on enhancing the digital innovation ecosystem, providing tech skills training, aiding micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in their digital transition, promoting data sharing for value creation, and generating decent job opportunities in a flexible labor market.
